I still can't figure why. Maybe I've finally had enough of the corporate Gargantua and that has me feeling bitter. I'm watching non-stop Coke and McDonald's ads on TV and when I leave the house I get to see the new Mega-Walmart down the road, jammed full of cars in the parking lot. Sometimes I think we need the protesters just to wake us all up. Or maybe it's the rain on the mountaintops and the fog all over the place. It's a brilliant, sunny winter weekend and I'm watching all this greyness on TV. One things for certain -- that whole Wayne Gretzky on the back of a truck, in the pouring rain, with guys coming out of the bars to run alongside, was one of the strangest and most surreal scenes I'd ever seen. I still can't get the image out of my head. I don't know why they'd even try to do an Opening Ceremony in London 2012 after that.
